San Francisco Shock

The San Francisco Shock is an Overwatch League team representing the city of San Francisco, California. The team is owned by NRG eSports.

The shock name and logo were chosen to represent the seismic activity of the region, and the seismograph itself is a silhouette of the Bay Bridge. The color gold is used to honor San Francisco's historic gold rush heritage.

History

NRG eSports announced that they had bought the San Francisco slot on July 12, 2017, as one of the 12 teams participating in the inaugural season. On September 28, their roster was revealed, and on October 16 the San Francisco Shock branding was revealed.

For mid-season pickups, San Francisco Shock signed on Architect and moth on March 13, 2018.
