Torbjörn uses his multipurpose hammer to build, upgrade and repair turrets. In a pinch, it can also be swung as a weapon.

Details

The Forge Hammer is Torbjörn's alternate weapon. It has the ability to deal damage to enemy players, but its primary purpose is for repairing his turret. Each swing will deal 55 damage to enemy players, and heal the turret for 50 HP.

Prior to the October 9, 2018 patch, the hammer could also upgrade his turret. 5 swings of the Forge Hammer on a full-HP level 1 turret were required to upgrade it to level 2.

Patch changes

October 9, 2018 Patch: Radius increased to align with Quick Melee.  December 13, 2016 Patch: Fixed a bug preventing the sound effects from Torbjörn’s hammer from being played when his Ultimate ability was activated.  November 15, 2016 Patch: Swing speed increased by 25%. Damage decreased by 27%.  February 18, 2016 (beta) Patch: Turret repair amount decreased from 100 to 50 health per swing.
