Genji brandishes his katana for a brief period of time. Until he sheathes his sword, Genji can deliver killing strikes to any targets within his reach.

Details

While his ultimate ability is activated, Genji's Shurikens are replaced with his blade. Genji can swing once per second, and it takes 1 second to unsheath and resheath the sword. Both Swift Strike and Deflect can be used during this time; Swift Strike's cooldown is reset upon activating this ability. Genji's ammo is also refilled upon completion of the ultimate.

Player-controlled Genji and an enemy Genji will shout "龍神の剣を喰らえ!" while an allied Genji will shout "The dragon becomes me!"

Trivia

• The Dragonblade is also known as 竜一文字, Genji's personal weapon, which no one else has ever been allowed to examine or repair.
• When Genji's skills were first introduced, the ability's shout was formerly "龍撃剣!".
• When the Oni skin is equipped, a player-controlled/enemy Genji will shout "鬼の剣を喰らえ！" while an allied Genji will shout "The demon becomes me!"
  • Genji's Oni skin had a different ultimate quote which did not make it into in the game: "我に宿る龍よ!"
• When the Baihu skin is equipped, a player-controlled/enemy Genji will shout "白虎の剣を喰らえ!" while an allied Genji will shout "The white tiger becomes me!"
  • The dragon is also changed into a tiger upon activation.

Patch changes

August 9, 2018 Patch: Some ultimate abilities now restore ammunition after completion for some heroes.  October 10, 2017 Patch: No longer interrupted when Genji is stunned or hacked.  April 27, 2017 Patch: Fixed a bug that gave Genji’s Dragonblade ability a slightly increased swing speed while at a higher latency. Dragonblade’s default swing speed has been slightly increased to compensate. Fixed a bug that prevented Genji’s Dragonblade ability from registering hits correctly  September 1, 2016 Patch: Duration of Genji's ultimate has been reduced from 8 seconds to 6 seconds
