Lúcio continuously energizes himself, and nearby teammates, with music. He can switch between two songs: one amplifies movement speed, while the other regenerates health.

Details

Lúcio plays his teammates one of two songs in the background that either give a constant speed boost or distribute continuous healing. Crossfade: Speed will grant heroes (including Lúcio) additional 25% movement speed, when Crossfade: Heal will heal them at the rate of 16 HP per second. Furthermore, Lúcio is only able to activate one type of Crossfade at any given moment. The player may toggle between the two with the ability button with 0.5 second delay in-between.

The healing and speed boost only affects teammates who are in a 12 meter radius around Lúcio, and in his line of sight. Also just below the crosshair is a counter that tells you how many teammates are within Crossfade's radius and receiving the current bonus.

Players can increase Crossfade effects with Amp It Up. When Amp It Up is active, Lúcio is still able to switch between two Crossfade.

In the Game Options, Lúcio has an option that affects his Crossfade:

• Hold To Crossfade: When enabled, the player will have to hold the appropriate button to keep the Crossfade: Speed in active; if the button is not held, Crossfade: Heal will be in active. Otherwise, player can switch between 2 modes by pressing the button once.

Trivia

• The healing song 'Rejuvenescência' is Portuguese for rejuvenation, which means to restore or energize something.

Patch changes

October 15, 2019 Patch: Speed boost's effect increased from 20% to 25%.  August 9, 2018 Patch: Aura radius increase from 10 to 12 meters.  April 11, 2017 Patch: Area of effect radius has been decreased from 30 meters to 10 meters; Healing-per-second has been increased by 30% (also applies to Lúcio's Amp It Up ability); Self-healing has been reduced by 25%  July 19, 2016 Patch: Self-healing abilities now charge ultimate abilities.  March 22, 2016 (beta) Patch: Now ignores payloads during Line of Sight checks.; Lúcio's Crossfade buff should now properly reapply to all allies after a round transition on Control maps.
