This page is about a specific type of objective. For other meaning of "control" see Control (disambiguation).

Control points (also known as simply "points") are the main objectives of Control, Assault and the first half of Assault/Escort maps. They usually take the form of rectangular shaped areas that teams must either capture or defend in order to win a match. There are two control points in Assault, one control point per round in control, and one control point in Assault/Escort.

Function[]

Control points can be captured by having at least one member of the attacking team stand in the marked area. If at least one member of each team is on the same control point, that point will be contested, during which no progress will be made. If players from the defending team are successful in removing attackers from the point, the capture progress will be halted. In Control maps, the capture progress will slowly revert to none after 5 seconds without any attacking team member on the point. In Assault and Assault/Escort maps, the capture progress will slowly revert to the last checkpoint mark after 5 seconds without any attacking team member on the point. There are two checkpoint marks, one is at one-third of the capture progress, and one is at two-thirds of the capture progress.
