Competitive Play rewards

Current rewards

Competpoints blackborder.png 15 are earned for every Competitive match won, and Competpoints blackborder.png 5 are earned for every draw/tie match instead.

At the end of each Competitive Season, there is an end-of-season reward in Competitive Points, which depends on the highest skill tier the player reached in that season. Competitive Points are awarded for each role individually and are gained at the end of the season is determined based on skill rating as following:

  • Bronze: Competpoints blackborder.png 25
  • Silver: Competpoints blackborder.png 50
  • Gold: Competpoints blackborder.png 100
  • Platinum: Competpoints blackborder.png 200
  • Diamond: Competpoints blackborder.png 300
  • Master: Competpoints blackborder.png 450
  • Grandmaster: Competpoints blackborder.png 650

Former reward

In Season 1, there was a different Competitive Point mechanic for Competitive matches: Competpoints blackborder.png 1 was earned for every match won. Competitive Points amount gained at the end of the season had been determined based on player's rating as follows:

  • Skill rating 0-39: Competpoints blackborder.png 10
  • Skill rating 40-45: Competpoints blackborder.png 20
  • Skill rating 46-49: Competpoints blackborder.png 40
  • Skill rating 50-52: Competpoints blackborder.png 60
  • Skill rating 53-55: Competpoints blackborder.png 80
  • Skill rating 56-59: Competpoints blackborder.png 120
  • Skill rating 60-64: Competpoints blackborder.png 200
  • Skill rating 65+: Competpoints blackborder.png 300

Since the removal of Sudden Death and the implementation of draw result in Season 2, there were entirely new mechanics for Competitive Point rewards, which were: Competpoints blackborder.png 10 was earned for every Competitive match won, and Competpoints blackborder.png 3 was earned for every draw/tie match. Competitive Points amount gained at the end of the season had been determined based on player's rating as follows:

  • Bronze: Competpoints blackborder.png 100
  • Silver: Competpoints blackborder.png 200
  • Gold: Competpoints blackborder.png 400
  • Platinum: Competpoints blackborder.png 800
  • Diamond: Competpoints blackborder.png 1200
  • Master: Competpoints blackborder.png 2000
  • Grandmaster: Competpoints blackborder.png 3000

From Season 6, the length of a season was reduced to 2 months and the awarded Competitive Points were reduced, which lead to an overall increase in the amount of Competitive Points gained. Competitive Points amount gained at the end of the season were determined based on skill rating as following:

  • Bronze: Competpoints blackborder.png 65
  • Silver: Competpoints blackborder.png 125
  • Gold: Competpoints blackborder.png 250
  • Platinum: Competpoints blackborder.png 500
  • Diamond: Competpoints blackborder.png 750
  • Master: Competpoints blackborder.png 1200
  • Grandmaster: Competpoints blackborder.png 1750

This reward system was changed with the introduction of the role queue. The amount of points was significantly lowered for each skill tier. However, since the player is awarded points for the placement of each role, the overall points are now higher assuming the player reaches the same skill tier in each role.

Competitive Arcade rewards

During certain seasonal events, relevant arcade modes will sometimes receive a competitive variant. Like the standard counterpart, players must complete placement matches to receive a rank, and will receive points for both victories and at the end of season.

As events are shorter than seasons, the placement rewards are reduced as a result. Additionally, due to the format of the matches, games last only one round and tied games will always go to Sudden Death; as a result, victorious players only receive Competpoints blackborder.png 4.

Copa Lúcioball

Copa Lúcioball was the first competitive arcade game, which was a variation of Lúcioball first introduced in Summer Games 2017, and ran for three weeks. Excluding Grandmaster placements, points were capped at ~40% of the Season 5 Competitive Play rewards:

  • Bronze: Competpoints blackborder.png 40
  • Silver: Competpoints blackborder.png 75
  • Gold: Competpoints blackborder.png 150
  • Platinum: Competpoints blackborder.png 300
  • Diamond: Competpoints blackborder.png 450
  • Master: Competpoints blackborder.png 750
  • Grandmaster: Competpoints blackborder.png 1750

Competitive CTF

The second Competitive Arcade game was Competitive CTF, which was introduced for Lunar New Year 2018. Due to the aforementioned reduction of season lengths and placement rewards, the competitive points cap was indirectly raised to ~60% of those awarded in normal Competitive:

  • Bronze: Competpoints blackborder.png 40
  • Silver: Competpoints blackborder.png 75
  • Gold: Competpoints blackborder.png 150
  • Platinum: Competpoints blackborder.png 300
  • Diamond: Competpoints blackborder.png 450
  • Master: Competpoints blackborder.png 750
  • Grandmaster: Competpoints blackborder.png 1000

Hard Cap

There is a Hard Cap for Competitive Points at Competpoints blackborder.png 6000. This means players will stop receiving Competitive Points once they reach Competpoints blackborder.png 6000. Players with more than Competpoints blackborder.png 6000 will no longer accrue Points until they are spent, however, end-of-season Competitive Point rewards will still be granted for players at the hard cap.
